Spotlight: Drag Show Auditions

Wednesday January 16, 2008
By Erin Miller

Drag all your friends into the fun this year for the 16th Annual Drag Show. The drag show is hosted by the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Alliance (LGBTA) and co-sponsored by the Sexual Awareness Center. The gender-inclusive event is an opportunity for you and your friends to ham it up in a wild, raucous and boisterous performance.

The auditions will take place 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan 15 -16 in VU 460.

At the time of auditions participants are required to have the name of your troupe, the song you would like to perform and the names of the members in your group. It is not required that all members show up to the audition as long as contact information is provided.

The LGBTA will try and accommodate everyone who wishes to be a part of the show, but space is given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Troupes will practice on their own time and then rehearse as a group two weeks prior to the show. On Feb. 21 their will be a full dress rehearsal. The drag show will be 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the PAC Concert Hall.

Traditionally proceeds go to charities including the Sean Humphrey House and the Evergreen AIDS Foundation.
